World's largest meeting of ear, nose and throat doctors to convene Sept. 21-24

AAO-HNSF annual meeting and OTO EXPO

Alexandria, VA - The 2008 Annual Meeting & OTO EXPO of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Foundation (AAO-HNSF)–the largest meeting of ear, nose, and throat doctors in the world–will convene September 21 - 24, 2008 in Chicago.

Featuring more than 165 scientific research sessions, 200 posters, and over 300 instruction course hours for attendees, the Annual Meeting is a unique opportunity for journalists from the around the world to report on the latest scientific research and clinical advances in the field of otolaryngology.

Otolaryngologists are specialty physicians dedicated to diagnosing and treating disorders of the ear, nose, throat, and related structures of the head and neck. As many as 8,000 such specialists from North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia attend to learn the latest research findings in patient care.

The scientific program and poster sessions will address medical disorders that are among the most common afflictions to all ages and both sexes. These include hearing loss, sleep disorders, ear infections, voice disorders, sinusitis, head and neck cancer, and pediatric ENT health issues. Additional sessions will focus on the ENT health of U.S. presidents, disaster healthcare disparities, and new guidelines for ear wax removal.

The AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO EXPO newsroom will be located in Room 265, Lakeside Level 2, McCormick Place Convention Center. Hours of operation: Saturday, September 20, 12 pm to 5 pm; Sunday - Tuesday, September 21 - 23, 7:30 am to 5 pm; and Wednesday, September 24, 7:30 am to 2 pm.
