HOUSTON, Sept. 25, 2008 – Noted energy and environment experts are participating in an eight-part lecture series at the University of Houston, addressing the implications of climate change for the world and for the Houston area.
"The Science and Policy of Climate Change" lecture series is free and open to the public and is held from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m. Mondays through Nov. 17. The series started this week and is being held in room 101 of the Cameron Building on the UH campus. No registration is required. For a map, visit http://www.uh.edu/campus_map/buildings/CAM.php.
Part of the College of Technology Fall Futures Lecture Series started last year by Peter Bishop, well-known futurist and associate professor of strategic foresight, this year's series shifts its emphasis from energy to climate change. Joining Bishop this year is Barry Lefer, assistant professor of atmospheric science in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, who assembled an impressive group of guest speakers to address what can be done both globally and locally to slow down climate change, as well as adapt to its effects.
