January 15, 2009 – Reston, Va. –The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) will join with the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center in hosting the 2009 U.S. Air Force T&E Days Conference, which will take place February 10-12 at the Hotel Albuquerque Old Town, Albuquerque, N.M.
T&E Days 2009 brings together test and evaluation professionals from academia, industry, and the military to focus on the implementation of the T&E Enterprise concept throughout the Air Force. Through a dynamic blend of panels, work groups, and concurrent technical sessions, participants will endeavor to boost program efficiency and the nation's war-winning capabilities.
Maj. Gen. Stephen T. Sargeant, commander, Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center, and general chair of the conference, stated that: "At T&E Days 2009, we intend to set a standard whereby we will drive toward a solution for the issues. We will identify and define issues for our planned workgroups to attack and in all cases they will report back before the conference ends. We expect some workgroups to find solutions during the conference, while others will continue to work for solutions afterwards. T&E Days 2009 is a 'must attend' event for military, industry and academia due to the emphasis on actively addressing issues to support acquisition excellence."
Key panel leaders will include: Lt. Gen. John L. Hudson, commander, Aeronautical Systems Center, Hanscom Air Force Base; Lt. Gen. Ted F. Bowlds, commander, Electronic Systems Center, Wright Patterson Air Force Base; Maj. Gen. Curtis M. Bedke, commander, Air Force Research Laborartory, Wright Patterson Air Force Base; and Douglas Loverro, Senior Executive Service, executive director, Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base.
Supporting the conference are: the Air Force Flight Test Center; Arnold Engineering Development Center; 46th Test Wing at the Air Armament Center; Space and Missile Systems Center, Space Development and Test Wing; Air Force Materiel Command; Air Combat Command; Air Force Research Laboratory; Air Mobility Command; and Test and Evaluation, Headquarters U.S. Air Force.
