News media registration open for 49th ICAAC, Sept. 12-15, 2009, San Francisco

News media registration for the annual infectious disease meeting of the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) is now open. The 49th Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC) will be held September 12-15, 2009 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California.

Known as the preeminent world meeting for presenting new information on clinical and basic research in infectious diseases and anti-infective therapy, ICAAC has also traditionally served as a forum for the introduction of new antimicrobial agents. It is the largest infectious disease meeting held in the United States.

The ASM Office of Communications will host a full-service press room with Internet access, telelphones, computers, photocopy and fax machines, and refreshments. Streaming audio and video of daily press conferences will be available over the Internet for reporters covering from a distance. Programs and abstracts, as well as an embargoed online press kit featuring tipsheets, lay-summaries of selected presentations and the press conference schedule will be available in advance of the meeting.
