Press conferences on the occasion of the 22nd ECNP Congress

Sept. 12-16, 2009, Istanbul, Turkey

Mental disorders are a global problem and, in view of some 500 million people affected worldwide, represent one of the biggest challenges for health care systems. At the 22nd ECNP Congress in Istanbul, more than 600 renowned experts from 25 countries will present the latest achievements in neuropsychopharmacology covering virtually all disorders of the brain and give an outlook on novel treatments for mental disorders.

We would like to draw your attention to the three press conferences during the 22nd ECNP Congress, which will deal with the crucial role of genetic factors in aggressive and antisocial behaviour as well as in attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in adults. Furthermore, Professor Carpenter, USA, will present the current paradigm shift in schizophrenia research, which will raise the possibility of very early intervention and secondary prevention in schizophrenia.
