Beginning this year, Springer will add the Journal of Cancer Education (JCE) to its journals publishing program. Published on behalf of the American Association for Cancer Education and the European Association for Cancer Education, the quarterly journal features a varied editorial board made up of MDs and PhDs who support the dissemination of information on improving cancer education worldwide.

The Journal of Cancer Education presents research that aims to improve current cancer education techniques, to solve problems that exist in educating patients and to strengthen existing education programs. International in scope, it serves as the ideal source to inform physicians, dentists, nurses, students, social workers as well as patients and the general public about various aspects of cancer education. Dr. Joseph F. O'Donnell of the Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire, USA, is editor-in-chief.

Articles include original research papers; commentary; book and media reviews; and announcements of educational programs, fellowships and grants. A special column called "Reflections" relates to the human aspects of dealing with cancer and cancer patients and their families.

Rachel R. Warren, Senior Publishing Editor of Cancer Research at Springer, said, "We are delighted that JCE will be a part of Springer's publishing program. The journal's commitment to educating scientists and public health workers in cancer prevention, early detection, treatment and rehabilitation are truly admirable and the journal will nicely compliment Springer's current, more research-focused cancer book and journal program."
