LOS ANGELES (Jan. 14, 2011) – Based on a survey of thousands of medical and healthcare professionals from around the country, 13 physician-researchers from Los Angles Biomedical Research Institute at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center (LA BioMed) ranked among "America's Top Doctors," a guide to the top 1 percent of physicians in the country.
Castle Connolly, the publisher of "America's Top Doctors," chose another 16 LA BioMed physician-researchers as among the top doctors in the region. To make its selections, Castle Connolly said it surveys thousands of physicians and healthcare professionals every year and asks them to identify excellent doctors in every specialty in their region and throughout the nation.
The publisher said its physician-led research team also makes thousands of phone calls each year, talking with leading specialists, chairs of clinical departments and vice presidents of medical affairs, seeking to identify top specialists for most diseases and procedures.
