Education research findings to be presented at the 2012 AERA Annual Meeting in Vancouver

WASHINGTON, DC -- In a salute to the international nature of education research, the American Education Research Association (AERA) will hold its 93rd Annual Meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The AERA Annual Meeting is the largest gathering of experts in the field and features the latest news and discoveries from scholarly and scientific education research. More than 13,000 education researchers from over 60 countries are expected to attend this meeting. Researchers will present their latest findings in more than 2,400 sessions, invited lectures, and other events.

Peer-reviewed presentations will cover a wide range of timely topics including: education policy and funding; public understanding of science; STEM education (science, technology, engineering and math); teacher quality and evaluation; online teaching and learning; charter schools; education of youth in immigrant and military families; community colleges and for-profits in higher education; bullying and school safety and many more noteworthy topics.

Journalists are invited to attend the meeting. For those who have not yet registered and would like complimentary press registration, contact AERA Communications at outreach@aera.net. AERA will host a newsroom at the meeting for journalists and will provide journalists with updates on research news presented at the meeting.

U.S. travelers to Canada will need a passport. Details on travel requirements, cell phone use, and general information are available on the AERA web site.
