CLEO: 2012 Press Luncheon – Biophotonics for Cancer Detection, Diagnosis and Treatment
A private press and analyst-only lunch panel at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9 will feature presentations from three of the field's leading researchers on the latest developments in image-guided spectroscopy of cancer, translating optical technology into clinical tools, coherence imaging for early cancer detection, and the molecular spectroscopy and imaging market.
Also on hand will be the 2012 CLEO/Laser Focus World Innovation Award winner, BioPhotonic Solutions, describing their winning device – the femtoAdaptiv™ -- a new ultrafast laser with potential applications in biomedical imaging, optical coherence tomography, and metrology in academic research and development laboratories.
Speakers:
Post-Deadline Paper Session
Post-deadline papers give conference attendees the opportunity to hear new and significant research in rapidly advancing areas at the earliest possible opportunity. The post-deadline session, which saw a more than 20 percent increase in the number of submissions this year, highlights only those papers judged to be truly excellent and compelling in their timeliness.
CLEO: 2012 hosts two Plenary Sessions featuring keynote addresses from industry luminaries across the globe:
Tuesday, May 8, 8 a.m.:
Wednesday, May 9, 8 a.m.:
CLEO: Applications & Technology
The new CLEO: Applications & Technology program explores the intersection of academic research with product commercialization. Featured session talks include:
The "classic" CLEO program that for more than 35 years has covered applied research and innovations in lasers, optical materials, and photonic devices. Hot topics to be covered this year include laser processing of materials, terahertz technologies, high-field and ultrafast optics, and biophotonics. Featured session talks include:
CLEO: QELS – Fundamental Science
The Quantum Electronics and Laser Science (QELS) program continues to be the premier venue for discussion of fundamental research in optical and laser physics-related areas. Topics will include optics, modern spectroscopy, quantum information science, molecular manipulation and control, nanophotonics, and metamaterials. A featured session talk includes:
In addition to the 300 participating companies from across the globe, CLEO: Expo features show floor programming that highlights business trends and market applications.
