American College of Surgeons

Writers, editors, and producers with an interest in contemporary surgical topics are invited to apply for press credentials to cover the 2014 Clinical Congress of the American College of Surgeons--one of the largest international meetings of surgeons in the world.

The Clinical Congress convenes October 26-30, in San Francisco, CA. Presentations at the Clinical Congress are developed to advance surgeons' ongoing efforts to achieve the best clinical outcomes for their patients.

The Moscone Center will house the scientific sessions and courses and all scientific and technical exhibits. The Hilton San Francisco Union Square will serve as headquarters hotel for the meeting.

THIS YEAR'S PROGRAM

Our President, Carlos A. Pellegrini, MD, FACS, FRCSI(Hon), has articulated his theme for this year's Congress as "The Surgeon of the Future: Anchoring Innovation and Science with Moral Values." In keeping with this theme, a number of sessions will address cutting-edge technology, evidence-based surgery, surgical education, professionalism, ethics, and social responsibility.

The Clinical Congress program includes guest lectures by prominent leaders in surgery; theme- and discipline-based panel sessions; video-based education selections; more than 200 research papers presented during the Surgical Forum and Papers Sessions; daily town-hall meetings; "meet the expert" luncheons; and peer-reviewed poster sessions. Furthermore, 200 companies will display products or services that improve the quality of surgical patient care or enhance management practices within the surgical profession.
