Mount Sinai Icahn scientists took detailed pictures of how drugs can bind to the TAAR1 receptor using CryoEM. They also discovered that an antipsychotic drug, asenapine, unexpectedly activates TAAR1, which could potentially contribute to asenapine’s therapeutic effects.
