Realizing columnar stacking structures using modified norcorroles (IMAGE)
Caption
By introducing specific side chains into norcorroles (which serve as antiaromatic units), researchers produced a liquid crystal with columnar stacking. Thanks to the triple-decker structure formed by antiaromatic units, this crystal exhibited high electrical conductivity and interesting thermotropic properties.
