Polyethylene glycols, or PEGs, are widespread, from cosmetics to medicine. But their persistence in the environment poses serious risks. Thanks to what’s called mass spectral imaging, scientists can now detect these pollutants with unprecedented precision, paving the way for better ecological protection.
