Nancy Kanwisher was honored with the Kavli Prize in Neuroscience for her discovery of the fusiform face area, a place in the brain which is specialized in face recognition. She shares the award with Winrich Freiwald (Germany) and Doris Tsao (USA), who built on her research to discover similar structures in macaques.
