Proposed model for CsLRR-RLKs in regulating herbivore-induced signaling pathways and defenses in tea plants. (IMAGE)
Caption
After herbivory, CsLRR-RLK44 and CsLRR-RLK239 are rapidly and strongly induced. These two LRR-RLKs modulate the expression of downstream MPK cascades and specific WRKY transcription factors. The changed expression of MPKs and WRKYs may modulate JA biosynthesis genes such as CsLOX7 and CsAOS, resulting in increased jasmonates, which consequently enhance tea defenses against tea geometrid larvae.
