A sphere (top) is positioned above a cloudy glass plate (center) so that the light it emits creates a complex pattern on the screen (bottom). The position of the sphere can be determined by analyzing the image data using artificial intelligence. The precision of the position determination is very close to the ultimate resolution limit determined in this work.
