Pain responses are triggered in response to physical injury as well as psychological or emotional stressors. However, the mechanisms underlying social or emotional pain transmission are poorly understood. A new study by researchers from Tokyo University of Science explores the association between sound stress exposure, pain perception, and inflammation in mice.
