Using CRISPR gene editing, Kathleen Mulvaney (center), an assistant professor with the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute, revealed a combination of therapies that showed promise in treating cancer in preclinical models. The study in the journal Cancer Research could help guide development of new therapies for some treatment-resistant lung, brain, and pancreatic cancers. Her lab members and colleagues include (from left) Samar Sayedyahossein, Diya Chhabra, Caleb Townsend, Eliana Destefanis; Dr. Erhumuoghene “Mary” Enakireru, Blanka Bordas, Samuel Moffitt, and Cole Simon.
