How reward modulates attention in humans (IMAGE)
Caption
An individual deliberates between two slot machines – one that assures payoff of Rs 100 (left) versus one with a risky payoff that could be anywhere between Rs 1 to Rs 1000. How does the brain weigh such variability in expected rewards and drive this individual's attention and choice? The study investigate this question using a behavioural task with a novel payoff structure, and human brain recordings with electro-encephalography (EEG).
