Immersion phase separation 3-dimensional printing (IPS 3DP) for structurally complex biomimetic devices

This figure shows an overview of the process of IPS 3DP where dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is slowly injected into a solvent/nonsolvent mixture to create the scaffold. The images B and C show the synthetic equation of IPS 3DP and photographs of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-based hydrogel with short alkyl chains (PVA-C5-DS) samples and IPS 3DP ink taken by the research team along with a representative image of the IPS 3DP process. Panel D represents a diagram for the PVA-C5-30/DMSO/water ternary systems, and Panel E shows IPS 3DP scaffolds modified by different materials, such as HA, CNT, and copper powder.
