Caption
A first-of-its-kind global analysis in the Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases shows that in approximately one third of countries and territories, population aging was the largest contributor to the growing burden of musculoskeletal disorders from 1990 to 2021. This map depicts the ratios between the numbers of incident cases attributed to incidence rate changes and those attributed to population aging in 204 countries and territories, 1990-2021. “Not applicable” indicates population deaging associated decreases in incident cases.
