Spatial Metabolomics: Decoding the Spatiotemporal Map of Food-Medicine Homology (IMAGE)
Caption
Spatial metabolomics faces three primary challenges in food-medicine homology research: the "black box" of component interactions, poorly characterized spatiotemporal dynamics, and the complexity of environment-substance-organism interactions. To address these, the technology employs high-resolution in situ imaging to visualize the distribution and interplay of components, utilizes multi-timepoint analysis to track metabolic trajectories, and integrates multi-omics data to elucidate geo-authenticity mechanisms and metabolic cross-talk within intestinal microenvironments—thereby systematically delineating the holistic efficacy of food-derived medicinal compounds.
