Direct-bandgap spinel sulfide semiconductor ZnSc2S4

ZnSc2S4 exhibits a direct bandgap and can emit light from orange to blue. Its composition can be chemically tuned to switch between n-type and p-type conduction over nine orders of magnitude, making it suitable for LED and solar cell applications.
