Heart failure occurs when the heart can no longer pump blood efficiently to meet the body’s needs. Beyond weakened muscle cells, new research highlights the hidden role of fibroblasts—supporting cells that, when overactive, contribute to worsening heart damage. This discovery could pave the way for more effective treatment strategies.
