A Blackpoll Warbler on Southeast Farallon Island in California is one example of the many birds that wind up as vagrants - well outside their normal range. A new study from the University of Illinois,  the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and Point Blue Conservation Science seeks to explain the phenomenon.
