The path to gout remission: integrating risk awareness, patient collaboration, and targeted therapy (IMAGE)
Caption
Prolonged hyperuricemia is a major risk factor for gout, which is now regarded as a curable disease. Awareness of the various factors that can trigger gout flares is essential for their prevention. An important determinant of treatment decisions and long-term follow-up is the quality of the clinician–patient relationship. The "treat-to-target" approach is recommended to support achieving the simplified remission criteria in clinical practice.
