Glioblastoma (IMAGE)
Caption
Reseachers from the Megan Matthews lab at Penn treated human glioblastoma brain tumor cells with hydralazine, one of the oldest-known blood pressure drugs and a first-line treatment for preeclampsia, for three days. At day three (imaged), more cells become enlarged and flattened—a hallmark of senescence, the non-dividing “sleep mode” that halts tumor growth.
