Energy spectrum of the halolike gamma-ray emission (IMAGE)
Caption
Photon energy dependence of gamma-ray intensity of the halo emission (data points). The red and blue lines represent the expected gamma-ray emission spectrum when WIMP particles annihilate, initially producing a pair of bottom quarks (b) or a pair of W bosons, and they agree well with the data. Bottom quarks and W bosons are known elementary particles included in the standard model of particle physics.
