Unintentional calorie reduction when ultra-processed foods reduced in trial (IMAGE)

Researchers from South Dakota State University found that when they reduced the amount of ultra-processed food in a clinical feeding trial, the overall amount of calories consumed by participants also reduced along with body weight, abdominal fat and body fat. Findings were consistent regardless of if the participants were eating a lean meat diet or a plant-based diet.
