The SwRI-developed Compact Dual Ion Composition Experiment (CoDICE) instrument aboard NASA’s IMAP spacecraft measures ions from the solar wind and charged particles from beyond the solar system. Its initial data identified different types of oxygen, hydrogen and helium as well as heavier iron and silicon atoms.
