DHT promotes SORT1 ubiquitination degradation, liberating ATG5 and ATG16L1 from the SORT1 complex. This process increases the expression of ATG5 and ATG16L1, leading to autophagosome accumulation mediated by LC3-II and ultimately triggering ACD in OCCs. PE: phosphatidylethanolamine.
