A new potassium-containing copper-zeolite catalyst, Cu-SSZ-39-K, enables major progress in low-temperature diesel NOx emission control. Its higher fraction of Al in 8-memberedrings promotes the formation of more active [Cu(OH)]+-Z species, nearly doubling NOx conversion at 150-225°C compared with conventional Cu-SSZ-39. The catalyst also maintains highly stable and excellent performance after 800°C hydrothermal ageing. With its enhanced activity and high-yield synthesis, Cu-SSZ-39-K offers a scalable route to cleaner diesel emissions.
