For the U.S. Air Force Academy, Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) is developing a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system to assemble, organize and store decades of scattered records and data for aging aircraft like the A-10 Thunderbolt, which was introduced in the 1970s. The PLM system will support proactive measures to increase safety and save money on aircraft maintenance by fixing problems before they become wider issues.
