Dying brain cells in MS

In developing mice, CUX2 neurons lacking a DNA repair enzyme succumb to DNA damage. Cells are shown in blue; DNA damage in green; and dying cells in red. The same neurons die in MS, as  inflammation from the disease causes overwhelming DNA damage.
