Researchers have developed a near-infrared polarization-sensitive photodetector based on 1T'-MoTe2/2H-MoTe2  van der Waals heterojunction. This novel near-infrared polarization-sensitive device represents more than a lab performance breakthrough; it provides a fundamental building block for next-generation sensing systems.
