Microscope images of mouse liver tissue with and without Zellweger spectrum disorder (ZSD). Tissue from mice with ZSD shows an increased accumulation of fats, or lipids, which correspond to redder hues. When the mice were treated by editing the PEX1 gene, liver tissue returned to near-normal levels.
