Nonlinear QCM enables ultra-sensitive mass detection. Schematic of the non-linear QCM sensing strategy. The sensor is first swept to record its initial resonance response, then exposed to micro/nanoparticles, BSA, or anti-BSA after sample deposition and solvent evaporation. In the non-linear regime, added mass shifts the resonance behavior and triggers an abrupt amplitude drop during the final frequency sweep, providing a clear signal for ultra-sensitive detection.
