Detection of bacteria in food and water using three electrodes system (working electrode, reference electrode and reference electrode) where working electrode comprises with polymer coated gold nanoparticles. Visible light activation on gold nanoparticles enhances the sensitivity of the sensor to make the detection of very few number of bacteria is possible.
