Researchers from China evaluated in a recent study a novel cerebral revascularization approach in which the superficial temporal artery is used to restore blood flow to the brain in patients with moyamoya disease. The superficial temporal artery patency concept (STAPC) strategy tailors bypass selection according to vessel size and cerebral circulation needs to improve surgical outcomes.
