“This study identifies MRI markers and a blood test that identifies patients with this disease who are at higher risk of death from heart failure, stroke or sudden death from fast heart rhythms,” said UVA Health cardiologist Christopher M. Kramer, MD, chief of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. Kramer was co-principal investigator of the sweeping international study.
