Southwest Research Institute has expanded its ISO 14001 certification, an internationally recognized environmental management framework to proactively reduce emissions and protect the environment during operations. The expanded certification covers several new research areas, including pharmaceutical development, analytical and environmental chemistry, chemical engineering and fire technology. SwRI’s fire testing laboratories are equipped with a custom pollution abatement system (seen here) to ensure pollutants are not released into the environment during testing.
