Comparison of spin-dependent Peltier effect in altermagnets and conventional Peltier effect (IMAGE)

Figure 1 illustrates how the spin-dependent Peltier effect in altermagnets differs from the conventional Peltier effect. When a pure spin current is injected along a specific crystallographic direction in an altermagnet, the distinct Peltier coefficients for spin-up and spin-down electrons lead to a net heat flow at the interface. This thermal signal reverses when the Néel vector rotates by 180°, providing a direct thermal signature of magnetic domain orientation.
