Acoustic Metasurface Demonstration (VIDEO)

Using their acoustic metasurface (AMS), a team of Penn State researchers are able to shape audio into a tiny “sound spot” about four inches away from the speaker. In the video, the team demonstrated this isolated sound bubble by moving a microphone in and out of the focal point.
