Dow colorectal cancer cell types (IMAGE)
Caption
This image shows a cross-section of a colorectal cancer biopsy assessed during treatment with a drug (sotorasib) targeting the mutant KRAS protein. Analyzing the activity of hundreds of genes in each individual cell--cancer cells (green), blood vessels (brown), fibroblasts (yellow) and different white blood cells (red and blue)--can shed light on the complex ways tumor cells adapt to drug treatment.
