This figure illustrates global income-related health inequalities in type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM)-related mortality and years of life lost (YLLs) among children and adolescents in 1990 and 2021, based on T1D Index data. Lower-income countries carried a disproportionately greater burden of T1DM mortality and YLLs, and these inequalities widened over time. Absolute inequalities were assessed using the slope index of inequality (SII), while relative inequalities were evaluated using the relative concentration index (RCI).
