Experimental set-up to study social recognition (IMAGE)
Caption
A test mouse is given a choice between a familiar (previously encountered) mouse and an unfamiliar (not previously encountered) mouse during a social interaction. Without memory loss, mice would spend more time investigating the unfamiliar mouse, indicating recognition of the familiar individual.
