Illustration of the liquid SiHfBOC precursor preparation process and schematic diagram of ablation mechanisms of HfO2-SiBOCbulk ceramic (IMAGE)
Caption
HfO₂-SiBOC ceramics feature a self-protective multilayer structure based on the Ellingham diagram, a polymer network with molecular-level-dispersed hafnium, and low-density characteristics, enabling excellent high-temperature ablation resistance. Compared with conventional ultra-high temperature ceramics (UHTCs), the obtained HfO₂-SiBOC ceramics exhibit near-nonablative behavior under oxyacetylene flame ablation at 2000°C.
