Ferroaxial-Order-Induced Raman Optical Activity (IMAGE)
Caption
Researchers used circularly polarized Raman spectroscopy to study how light scatters from a centrosymmetric nickel titanium oxide (NiTiO3) crystal. By comparing the intensity of scattered left- and right-circularly polarized light, they identified Raman optical activity arising from the orientation of ferroaxial domains.
