The magic behind the batteries

At the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Professor Ann Mari Svensson and her colleagues make small test batteries from scratch. "After working with lithium-ion batteries for many years, we are now trying to make batteries that use only aluminum and graphite. That is significantly cheaper than lithium," says Svensson.
