Southwest Research Institute and Southern Methodist University are collaborating to advance solid-state battery technology to improve stability and reliability. SwRI Senior Research Engineer Dr. John Hemmerling and Staff Scientist Dr. Jianliang Lin are using a deposition chamber to engineer ultra-thin films to reduce degradation and resistance at the anode-electrolyte interface of a solid-state battery.
